The DALI repeater provides galvanic isolation between two DALI circuits without restricting the flow of information. The maximum number of addresses in the bus system remains limited to 64, but both circuits can be supplied with 250mA each, so a total of 500mA is available to supply DALI devices. An extension of the maximum permissible DALI cable length from 300m to up to 600m can be realized with the use of the repeater. The DALI repeater works bidirectionally and is suitable for single and multi-master systems.
Devices are available with and without integrated bus supply.
